New York City has dozens official agencies, mayoral offices, and departments that oversee everything from education and public health to transportation and sanitation for New York City's 9+ million residents. The Urbantech NYC Agency Briefing Series is designed to break down the barriers between the local tech community and City government. NYC's leading urban tech companies will have an opportunity to learn more about how the City operates, its strategic priorities, and how companies can better navigate public markets.

This month, we welcome Ellen Zielinski, Director of Clean Energy and Innovation at the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). DCAS provides facilities management for public buildings, supports city workforce needs, and manages utility accounts for more than 4000 buildings. Ellen is responsible for strategy, program development, and coordination across NYC agencies for the achievement of municipal renewable energy targets – including implementation of 100 megawatts of solar on City buildings by 2025 – as well as the demonstration of new technologies to inform and improve the City’s energy efficiency and clean energy investments.
